Breakfast trifle

A recipe to acquire, develop and secure practical food skills such as weighing and measuring while demonstrating the principles of good food hygiene and safety.

Ingredients

150g muesli

120ml apple juice

450g reduced-fat plain yogurt

350g mixed seasonal fruits

Equipment

Spoon, serving glasses.

Method

  1. Place the muesli in the base of four glasses.
  2. Spoon 2 tablespoons of apple juice over each.
  3. Spoon over the yogurt and top with fruit.

Top tips:

  • Reduce food waste: Try this recipe using fruits which are in-season as they will be cheaper and more readily available. 
  • Beat the budget: To reduce cost this recipe could also be made using frozen berries.
